March 15, 1936 - January 7, 2018
Betty Jean Fisher Reynolds, 81, passed lovingly into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018, surrounded by her family and caregivers. She was born March 15, 1936 in Kannapolis, NC to the late William Howard and Mary Frances Fisher.
Betty was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis, NC and attended Appalachian State University until marrying the love of her life, Bobby E. Reynolds, on June 16, 1956.
Daughters Bonnie, Belinda, and Amy were soon added to the nest. Betty sewed beautifully, making lovely clothes for herself and the girls. An avid gardener, she loved flowers, and her yard was the envy of the neighborhood. She instilled in her daughters the love of music, poetry, gardening, and nature. She was generous and caring, and she taught her children the importance of compassion. Betty truly loved children, and worked as a Charlotte Mecklenburg teacher at Sedgefield Elementary School for 25 years.
Betty enjoyed her time with Bob, their relatives, and church friends. They were members of St. Andrews United Methodist Church since 1964, where they loved singing in the choir. She and Bob traveled to Ireland, Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, the Wine Country, and the Grand Canyon.
Survivors include: her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Foster (Dottie) and their children Steve, Kim, Anthony, and Joseph; and daughters: Bonnie R. Emadi, her husband, Babak, and their daughter, Laleh; Belinda R. Norman and her husband, James, and her daughter, Sierra Cohen; and Amy C. Reynolds and her children, Hillary, Haley, and Justin Brown, and their father, William W. Brown. Betty is also survived by countless nieces and nephews and cousins that she loved dearly and chatted about regularly.
Betty lived with Parkinson's Disease for 15 years. Special thanks and gratitude to her caregivers, including Sheila Bogar and Melinda McGuine, who gave of themselves so that Betty could remain home until the time of her death.
