Mrs. Frances Hull Marion, of Charlotte, died on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born in Charlotte, NC on January 11, 1922 to the late Dr. P.C. Hull and Lucy Louise Hutchinson. She was married to Paul Blaine Marion from 1943 until his death in 1989 and then to Edward Allison Scholtz from 1992 until his death in 2005.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dr. P.C. Hull, Jr., William Hull, and Dr. Robert Hull; sisters, Lucy Hull Foster, and Peggy Hull Rosenberg; son, Robert Davidson Marion; grandson, Adam Marion; and her special friend, Malcomb Cross. She is survived by her son, Dr. Paul Blaine Marion, Jr. and his wife, Susan; daughters, Sally Marion Blythe, and Patricia Hardin Marion; step-daughter, Sherry Scholtz Marsh; as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren (Chris Blythe and his children, Peyton and Gavin; Bryan Blythe and his wife, Meg and their children, Margaret, Hunter, and George; Luke Marion; Martha Marion; Noah Marion; Katherine Marion; and Joseph Marion and his wife, Susan); as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Marion was a member of the Charlotte and Myers Park Country Clubs and Myers Park Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and was a member of the Stephen Ministry. She worked for a period of time as Executive Secretary of Myers Park Homeowners Association, and her hobbies included tennis, golf, bridge and dancing. She attended Myers Park Elementary School and Alexander Graham Junior High School in Charlotte, Pfeiffer Academy, and Queens College (now Queens University of Charlotte). She moved to the Cypress in 1999 and enjoyed many wonderful friendships during her years there.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church in Charlotte with the Rev. Deborah Conner officiating.
